I liked that but then looked it up.
Many calculators for inflation on the web but
$0.02 in 1960 is only $0.15 today

If you start back in 1914 (not much pattern activity back then)
$0.02 adjusted for inflation is $0.45

I also looked up some prices I remembered as a kid gas $0.33 late 60's, 
Pizza $1.75 mid 70's (whole pie not a slice) Both have gone up much more 
than just inflation :)

Maybe the weight of pattern planes are just being adjusted for 
inflation.  I know my weight has gone up :)
