History of the 5Kg limit?  It might be a convoluted as the reason the rails on our railroads are 4' 8" apart.  If this is tracked back, it is based on the width of two Roman horses' asses.  I suspect the weight limit history is not nearly as old, but that the reason has little to do with modern R/C aerobatics.
