Bob

That was implemented many years ago as the only way to ensure everyone was certified. Otherwise, we would have no judges.

Frankly, I am getting tired of taking these tests to be certified just to participate in the Nats and I'm not interested in sitting in a classroom at Muncie either.

We (the Judging Committee) and especially Derek Koopowitz (both our webmaster and on the Judging Committee!) have worked hard on this. The updated list of current Certified Judges is also available through the judging section of the NSRCA website.

Bear in mind that a given certification only lasts until the rules change for that event. For instance, if you took the full course at the Nats last year you were certified for AMA events until 12/31/2012 and FAI events until 12/31/2011. At this point, in order to be certified to judge FAI, you would need to log on to the NSRCA website, pay the $5 fee and download the FAI Re-certification course and test. Once you have passed the course (80% is required) I will update your records as being certified for FAI until 12/31/2013.
