And then next year it'll be another $5 for AMA certification. Masters pilots do judge AMA classes, as well. On another note, if you are currently certified, and a new rule book comes out the next year, why should you have to take a test on the whole thing again when all you need is a summary of the changes for review. Frankly, I am getting tired of taking these tests to be certified just to participate in the Nats and I'm not interested in sitting in a classroom at Muncie either.

Yeah, then pay your $5. Otherwise you are "persona non grata". <VBG>

When I try to look at the list it says I am not authorized.
Does that mean I need to recertify?

To all NSRCA pilots – I hope you all know that the full judging course and tests are now available on-line through the NSRCA website. We (the Judging Committee) and especially Derek Koopowitz (both our webmaster and on the Judging Committee!) have worked hard on this. The updated list of current Certified Judges is also available through the judging section of the NSRCA website. If your name is not on the certified judges list and you think it should be please let me know. I will need to know when you took the course and who the instructor was. Bear in mind that a given certification only lasts until the rules change for that event. For instance, if you took the full course at the Nats last year you were certified for AMA events until 12/31/2012 and FAI events until 12/31/2011. At this point, in order to be certified to judge FAI, you would need to log on to the NSRCA website, pay the $5 fee and download the FAI Re-certification course and test. Once you have passed the course (80% is required) I will update your records as being certified for FAI until 12/31/2013. Thanks, Jonathan L.
