For the last 2 events D-6 has added a new feature to the contest.  Chuck
Hockhalter has made an Un-Gnome pattern which consists of about 9 maneuvers
that all the classes have an opportunity to fly.  The maneuvers are the same
with different elements added to increase the difficulty for each class.
So, the first maneuver may be a cobra and if you are a novice you fly the
cobra with only an up line and a downline where FAI may fly the same cobra
with a roll to knife edge on the up leg and a roll out of knife edge on the
downline.  Contestants are given the patterns Sat afternoon and asked not to
fly them before the Un-Gnome on Sun morning.  I hope someone will post a
photo of the Un-Gnome trophy.
