Hey Dennis,

It was a great contest. Very sorry you couldn't attend and even more so knowing that it's due to your injuries. I hope you're on the mend.

Some outcomes from memory...

Sportsman was very close with Noel Hunt (local) winning the prize with Bryan Finley in very close 2nd. Joe... (sorry Joe, no recollection of your last name) also put up some great flights for his first contest and came in third. We're really hoping that Noel and Joe will come on the road and join us in Cincinnati in 2 weeks.

Intermediate was also very tight, though it was a contest of Zeroed maneuvers. Ron Hanson, Mike Gaishen, and Sean Atwood (yes, he's mine) all traded rounds but Sean pulled out the victory with Mike in VERY close second behind him. Ron was struggling with loose wing adjusters on his Passport and chose not to risk things so he opted not to fly Sunday and took home 3rd. Peter V. also flew intermediate on Saturday but with all the running around to CD the event also opted not to fly on Sunday.

Advanced - Matt Finley won, with Anthony Abdullah in close pursuit and Ken Alexander taking 3rd.

Masters - Brenner Sharp was able to do his "Happy Dance" with some great flying to edge out Verne Koester who also flew tremendously. These two are going to be tough to catch with the way they're pushing each other. Bob Kane took 3rd place and continues to demonstrate how capable the 62" Osiris is even in Masters.

FAI - I was the only attendee in FAI so Saturday I flew 4 rounds of P-13 to get some feedback (and some practice) and Sunday I opted to take the judges chair with all the close contests.

This contest is extremely well run. They get great club participation both with flyers, as well as having great concessions from start to finish. Final awards includes a folder for each pilot with print outs of raw scores for each round, class totals, and for award winners, a laser cut and laser etched, brushed steel plaque and stand. Very cool...

Many thanks to Peter Vanheusden and his wife Shelley for a LOT of work. And thanks to the Detroit RC Club (VERY large, VERY active club that shut down for 2 days so that 18 guys to indulge themselves) for the use of their great field.
