Well said, Dave, for both contests.
Were those "wet" engines part of the Rapture?

Contest
Nevermind 4 rounds done by Saturday afternoon, or 6 by Sunday at 1pm, or the
killer grub for breakfast and lunch by Nick at the grill, or the speedy scoring
from Joe. Mark and his crew are so organized and thorough that field which had
been rainsoaked for a week was devoid of ruts in the driveway and parking area
when pilots returned on Sunday morning. Another great contest put on by these
guys.
Of the 19 pilots….I think only 4 were not electric – 1 YS170, 1 older YS (in a
Sequel), 1 OS, and 1 Syssa gasser.
And, many thanks to Sal Piu and Rick Wallace and the OCM crew for the season
opener the prior weekend at Lakehurst. At Lakehurst, I think 2 of the 15 were
not electric (1 YS 170, 1 Syssa gasser).
Glow/gas looks to be on the endangered species list in the NE.
Regards,
Dave

Weather's looking great so far for the Conyngham Pa contest this weekend. Plus
we'll have a break in the rain on Thursday to mow the grass. ..............Mark

Gentlemen, the contest season is among us once again. The 5th Annual NEVRC
Pattern Contest will take place next weekend May 21st and 22nd. The field looks
great and we're already for another terrific weekend. Friday will be open for
practice so feel free to come out and get in a few practice flights. Bring a
foamie or two as you know we had some relaxing fun in the previous years on Fri
& Sat evenings.
Please see our site for hotel listings and directions (www.nevrc.org) . Don't
forget that there is a gate at entrance so look for a gate card wired to the
card reader. Just hold the card near the reader till it beeps.
Primitive camping is allowed so tents, camper and RV's are welcome. All we
ask is that you let the NEVRC club staff help park your RV/Camper so we avoid
any areas of the parking that may be a little soggy. It's been a wet spring as
we all know. With that in mind, the road and the field are terrific and the
grass looks the best ever.
For preregistration, it would be a great help if you can simply email me
(ontheedge at epix.net) with your Name, AMA#, NSRCA #, Class you will be flying
(Sportsman, FAI etc), and Frequency. That will help with the registration on
Saturday morning. We'll try our best to get going around 9-10am on Saturday.
If you have any questions about the contest, directions or the area, please
don't hesitate to email or call my cell phone (570-650-6995). Those of you that
don't currently fly pattern, please stop by and see what it's all about and
support the hobby.
Regards,
Mark Vukmanovich
