Thanks for pointing that out Richard. I'll contact the AMA and ask them to
list all the sponsors.

Derek,
You mention many organinzations that have provided some level of sponsorship
below. However, if I look at the AMA's F3A WC website, there are zero
sponsors listed anywhere...The AMA site even has a link to directing you to
an empty sponsors page....
I know that this is likely nothing that you have any direct influence on,
but...perhaps you know who to point this out to for review.....
Same is true for the USA Team website...
Richard

We've (AMA) been able to negotiate better room rates for judges/jury members
since those are paid for primarily out of contestant entry fees. No one
else locally is in much of a "giving" mood.
Now, having said that... we've received some great sponsorship from a number
of RC vendors such as Hobbico, Futaba, Horizon, ThunderPower, Hacker USA
(Aero-Model Inc.), F3A Unlimited, Tru-Turn, CA Models, Morgan Fuels, YS
Parts & Service, TechStyles, etc... I know I'm probably forgetting some
others (and I apologize).

Has there been much solicitation of businesses in the Muncie area? I have
to believe we're filling hotels and restaurants for that 2 week period and
providing a small boom to their economy. I would think there would be some
donations to be had from the industries that benefit the most. All those
hotels on McGalliard, the restaurants, etc. Seems like soliciting them
could go a long way though I realize that takes effort that would have to
come from the locals at AMA.
Just a thought.

Glen - this is what I posted on RCU... I can not speak for the NSRCA as I'm
not a part of the leadership, but traditionally the NSRCA has always
supported the US Team.
The AMA and the NSRCA are hosting the F3A World Championships. As with any
major event such as this, there are a LOT of expenses incurred especially if
we want to put on a 1st class event. One of the biggest areas that we are
struggling with are finding sponsors for the event. As one can imagine
there are a lot of unpaid volunteers needed to support this event and even
though they are unpaid, we still need to feed them every day for 12 days,
and also provide them some form of help to offset their own expenses.
I am sure that the NSRCA will support the US Team but I can also tell you
that based on the sales of merchandise to date, not much money is being made
- none to this point, anyway. We haven't even covered the cost of paying
for the merchandise yet - there is still a long way to go.

Saw this question on RCU:
"Do the proceeds from these merchandise sales go directly to support
the US Team?"
I'm cuprous to know how this works as well.
