A lot of things are enforced that are not in the rule book and a lot ignored that is.

Earl,
Thanks, but I still can't find it in the rule book.  Anyone know where it is?  John Fuqua??  If it isn't there, how can we enforce it?

Jon

The spec is dbA so - A scale. Typically use "Fast" unless reading is varying 3db or so (unlikely), then use slow.

Does anyone know where the requirements for the settings on the dB meter are in the Competition regulations?  The regs are very specific as to the placement of the sound meter to the aircraft, distances, etc, but I can't find the requirements for the use of "A" or "C" weighting, or "Fast" or Slow" response.  I think we are supposed to use "A" weighting, and Slow response, but I'm not sure.
