But many more are. I use it for my local club Pax Aero. Many of our
members have facebook pages and when I update the website, I update
the facebook page as well. This tells members the clubs page has been
updated and then they go to the site. It has worked very well in keep
members more informed.

Those who aren't still have the option of going to the webpage
without the notice from Facebook.

I hate to be the one to say it. Everyone is not on facebook. That
includes businesses too.

 Hi Tim,
The idea of requesting a section for the NSRCA has been suggested
before but doesn't seem to go anywhere with the board. Why? I
honestly don't know. In the Information Technology world, it's all
about Social Media now. I created this and got approval from the
board simply to reach out to all that are out there or may be out
there in the future. Everyone is on Facebook. The page is not meant
as a gathering place but solely to put small tidbits of information
out there at your fingertips. The are more people who read their News
Feed than take the time to go to the NSRCA website by far. If we post
something there and it appears on everyone's News Feed, that
information is more apt to be read. The purpose is only to get us out
to the general public and present information quickly without someone
having to pop on to another site. Since a lot of people already sit
on Facebook, this is the perfect opportunity for us to get information
out there so people, for example, can't say I didn't know the deadline
for registering for the NATs was June 30. Believe me, I had that
happen with some pretty "happening" folks but I know they were on
Facebook. My comment was it was posted on the application and
certainly on NSRCA's website. The response was, "I rarely go to the
NSRCA website". Yes, the argument can be made that this is a reason
to enhance the website (which John Gayer and I are pushing for) and
the argument could be made that this is another reason to go to RCU.
All I'm trying to do is increase our visibility and Facebook is a
prime place to do this. This is exactly why almost ANY business is on
Facebook. It's where folks are.

 Thanks for the effort Scott,
However, isn't this exactly what the NSRCA web site is for? The one
with all the info in one place that everyone already uses to some
degree. Actually I've been disappointed in the usage on the Nsrca site
and find far more usefull info on RCU. The Nsrca web site can go
months between posts. Contest results are the best, love that feature.

So now we have to place the same info in several different places.
RCU seems to be the biggest place that NSRCA/Pattern fliers hang
out, would it be smarter to use that as the nesting place?
Might we ask for a Forum for NSRCA? would that be a good idea?
Why must we reinvent the wheel again?

 Good Morning,
For those of you on Facebook, the NSRCA has created a Facebook
page for our group that will list any information that we have to
distribute and we can also post contest results, upcoming contests and
anything that makes sense to put on this page pertaining to pattern.
We are excited about this opportunity to hopefully reach out and touch
more individuals. You can find the link to our Facebook page on
www.nsrca.us [7] on the right side under the Kfactor stuff. If you
click on the "Like" button, information posted on our site will be
visible each time on your "News feed" of Facebook.
If you have information that you would like to put out there,
please send it directly to me and I will post this information
immediately. Look at us going into the 21st century! :)
 Warmest Regards,
 Scott
