I bought a jetta wagon TDI last year and love it! I can fit one 2m pattern plane in the car with stabs on and all support equipment needed. I average about 40-45mpg on the highway.

Before buying my toaster (Honda Element) I was considering a Mercedes E320 wagon. VW wagons with TDI supposedly get over 40mpg.

That’s right Jon….
I had a 89’ Dodge Caravan that I ran for 230,000 miles and was still running when I donated it.
Now I have a 2008 Chrysler T&C Limited with stow and go, 3.8 engine, 5 speed trans, 3 TV’s and the MyGig unit with GPS.
If you get one…make sure it has the chrome side mirrors…that’s the way to determine if it has the MyGig unit.
As Mike says….it’s the ideal choice.
The airplanes love to watch Chip’s U-Tube videos.

There were a TON of the late model (2010/2011) Chrysler/Dodge minivans at the World Championships in Muncie. Easily carried the teams shipping boxes.
If you go with the above minivan, be sure to specify Stow n' Go seating and a 3.8 or 4.0 engine. The middle and rear row seats fold flat into the floor, and it is the only minivan on the market that has this feature. Others may have seats that fold down, but all of the others do not fold into the floor.
If you are looking to buy a used minivan, look at the 2005 to 2007 Chrysler/Dodge minivan, again with stow n' go seating. I have a 2005 with about 110,000 miles. Most reliable vehicle I've ever owned. Try to find one with the 3.8 liter engine, particularly if you will be going through mountains. I have the 3.2, and it is ok, but more power would be nice especially on hot summer days. The 3.8 has better gearing also, and usually gets a little better mileage. It is available on the Touring and Limited Chrysler Town and Country's, and equivalent Dodge Grand Caravans.

Right now I would say the ideal choice for vans is the 2011 chrysler/dodge minivan.

I’m in the market for a new vehicle, and while I see the vast benefit of a van, it’s not in the cards currently. Any suggestions from those of you not currently blessed with vast amounts of cargo room? I’m all ears…….
