[NSRCA-discussion] 14MZ copy functon

I recently had something happened that will be of interest to all flying the
Futaba 14MZ. My transmitter was sent to Futaba for repair. I had the good
fortune of being able to borrow another while mine was in the shop. I
copied my setup from my transmitter to the borrowed one. This I flew for a
few weeks until mine was returned.

During the repair Futaba did update the radio to the latest version of the
software. I copied the program from the borrowed trx to mine. I thought I
did a thorough check of all the functions including all the mix functions
and switch positions. I did notice the idle was higher on the radio once
the engine was started. I changed the AFR on the throttle and was off.
Landing seemed a little fast. I use the left slider for trim on my
throttle. Once on the ground I pulled the left slider (LST) to the
throttle cutoff position and the throttle advanced to the point where I'm
sure I could have easily gotten airborne. I nosed over and killed the
engine. The slider was reversed. Of course this was the only function I
hadn't checked. I recently had the opportunity to copy my program which had
been flown the day before into the borrowed radio. Guess what, the slider
was again reversed. I don't know if this is only a problem with the latest
software copying to an older version or just a problem with all version of
the software. My trx had the latest software and the borrowed one had an
older version.

Be aware,

Don
