I don't have it yet, but want to get one the next time I need a new rx. I saw it at Toledo, and thought it was a great idea.
 
As I was told, the Sbus rx looks to be only 8 channels, but that is only how many standard servo outputs that it has. IOW, it can function exactly like a regular 8ch rx with 8 servo leads plugged into it. BUT, when using the Sbus, the rx outputs all the channels that the transmitter puts out.
 
There are new Sbus servos that can be programmed for the channel number, and can be plugged into the Sbus anywhere. There are also Sbus decoders that can be programmed for the channel numbers, and standard servos can be plugged into them.
 
Great idea, IMHO.

Anyone got any info on Futaba's S.bus?  It was nice when Jim Oddino used to review this stuff and tell us why we needed it or not.  This sounds like it could have some advantages.
