[NSRCA-discussion] Firewall Material

I have made very light and strong firewall material by laminating 1/64 plywood on both sides of 1/4" end grain balsa using polyurethane glue. Add 3/32" balsa disks where you need a blind nut. This system has worked very well in my now 4 season old Temptation with a YS160DZ/Hyde mount. It also offers a wide gluing surface to attach the firewall to the inside of the fuselage.

You have to use a lot of weight to hold everything together while the polyurethane cures.
