I'd say keep the shootout for the 5/6 and swap the columbus contest.

The goal is to have one D4/D5 contest per month.

June : Shootout
July : Jim Hubbard Memorial
August: Weak Signals
Sept: D4 Champs.

This would actually space the first two out better.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] D4/D5 Shootout

Normally the Columbus Pattern contest is the first weekend in June and the D4/D5 Shootout is the second weekend in June. Well, Dave Johnstone just found out that the D4/D5 shootout has been moved to June 5 & 6th due to the XFC. That weekend conflicts with the Columbus contest and also the D5 contest. Here are some possible solutions:

1. Cancel shootout

2. Keep that weekend and the Columbus contest and the D5 contest move to a different weekend

3. Move shootout to different weekend (According to AMA this could be done in late May if we agree to 2.4 only)

4. Move shootout to Columbus over the Memorial Day weekend (we would have to check with our club first).

5. Any other suggestions???

As far as I know, the date for the Columbus contest is flexible and so if the date of the Hebron Contest (tentatively May 15th and 16th). The sun is in the box until 11 am or so in late May so it may be difficult to get 6 rounds in on Sat or Sun so having Monday as a backup maybe helpful (thus the reason for the Memorial Day weekend). AMA has RC events scheduled for late may so we would have to share the site thus the reason for 2.4 only.

I need your feed back so the Columbus club can plan the event and Dave Johnstone and D5 can finalize the contest schedule.

What say you???
