[NSRCA-discussion] Fwd: Hatch Latch

It is about 1/2" to 5/8" long. It is metal, so you can cut it shorter with
a Dremel cut-off wheel if that is too long.

How long is the release lever on this one?

I've used this one from Hobby Lobby on several airplanes .. over several
years, with no problems.

No argument on the plastic arm being fragile. However, with a smoothly
engaging assembly, being beefy isn't necessary and they are very light.

I can't recommend these. The plastic lever arm is too brittle/not beefy and
is easily broken with just a little force, such as a tight fit. I've broken
one, and so has Gary Courtney. If the arm breaks, they are a bear to get
open. I like a lot of stuff from Hobby City, but this isn't one of them.

Mike Hester put some slick white plastic ones on the canopy of the Black
Magics he built. I think they come from China and have seen them on the
HobbyCity/HobbyKing web site. Mike, are you out there?

Can anyone recommend a spring loaded hatch latch that will work on a 1/8"
thich fuse side to hold on my canopy?

Thanks
