Trust me, you can lock it up with epoxy too.

I agree that it's more sturdy, but, if you plan to CA it to the canopy, you should unscrew the handle and remove the pin and spring so you don't end up with a locked up system (guess how I know this).

I agree. I’ve tried various latches and the red one from Hobby-Lobby is the best.

I've used this one from Hobby Lobby on several airplanes …. over several years, with no problems.

No argument on the plastic arm being fragile. However, with a smoothly engaging assembly, being beefy isn't necessary and they are very light.

I can't recommend these. The plastic lever arm is too brittle/not beefy and is easily broken with just a little force, such as a tight fit. I've broken one, and so has Gary Courtney. If the arm breaks, they are a bear to get open. I like a lot of stuff from Hobby City, but this isn't one of them.

Mike Hester put some slick white plastic ones on the canopy of the Black Magics he built. I think they come from China and have seen them on the HobbyCity/HobbyKing web site. Mike, are you out there?

Can anyone recommend a spring loaded hatch latch that will work on a 1/8” thich fuse side to hold on my canopy?

Thanks
