[NSRCA-discussion] Now 2.4g Question

A couple of evenings ago I converted my 20+ year old Futaba 9VAP
transmitter to 2.4 GHz, using the Hitec 2.4 GHz transmitter module/
receiver package. It was more difficult to mod this transmitter than
it would be for many transmitters, because I had to remove the back
and sides of the transmitter and the main circuit board in order
access the base of the 72 MHz antenna to remove it. Nevertheless, I
got it back together and it works perfectly.

On a lot of transmitters which use modules, you can remove the
antenna simply by unscrewing it and pulling it out. If you have a
transmitter like this, the conversion to 2.4 GHz with the Hitec 2.4
GHz module/receiver package would take less than five minutes and
would cost about $100 for the transmitter module/receiver package.
It's a cheap, easy way to get a 2.4 GHz system and you could easily
convert it back to 72 MHz if you wanted to.
