[NSRCA-discussion] Hatch latch or screws?

I'm flying a XIGRIS built by Dan Curtis, he flew it in Masters and I'm flying it in Advanced, it has two pins in front and a single latch in rear top.  I don't believe it will ever let go.  I've got about 30 flights on it, don't know how many Dan flew.

I'm finishing the canopy on my Xigris and havent decided between at least one 4-40 screw at the aft top or a hatch latch.

I've always used 2 screws....would'nt dream of a latch with a glow model. However, this is e-powered. I still hear and read occasionally of departing canopies and am a little uncertain about the security of a hatch latch.

Is a single hatch latch reliable or should I stick with 4-40s?

Thanks for any feedback.

Colin.
