For what is worth I've had BVM hatch latches (2) and two carbon rods on my Black Magic canopy with a YS up front and haven't had a an issue at all.

I've got the canopy set up with 4 carbon pins. Do you also need hooks if using a latch?

with the Xigris having a canalizer on top, I would be hesitant to use a latch. On my Integral and Brio electrics, I used the BVM latch with good success.

I'm finishing the canopy on my Xigris and havent decided between at least one 4-40 screw at the aft top or a hatch latch.

I've always used 2 screws....would'nt dream of a latch with a glow model. However, this is e-powered. I still hear and read occasionally of departing canopies and am a little uncertain about the security of a hatch latch.

Is a single hatch latch reliable or should I stick with 4-40s?

Thanks for any feedback.

Colin.
