You didn't thin it with alcohol did you?  That can also make it spongy.

    Is there any fix for epoxy that hasn't cured in several days other than peeling it out and trying again?  I must have gotten the mixture wrong. . . . the front side is hard as a rock, but the back side is still spongy . . (front and back were done on separate days. . )
