The voltage was checked at the World's before every flight in Portugal and Argentina. My understanding is that the voltage limit is a safety issue. As I understand it, anything over 42.56 has the potential for causing serious injury to humans. Someone else probably knows what that is. I don't remember. My recollection is that voltage was only checked during weigh-in at the Nats, but I could be wrong.

I see Electrics have a "Displacement" limit, why are they limited and the IC engines not?
I also see they must be checked in the ready box prior to each flight, anyone ever have this check done? Even at the worlds?
Or is this another ignored rule?
