[NSRCA-discussion] 15C vs 20C Flightmax batteries

I have run both this summer. The 15C's are lighter (587g versus 622g). They
both seem to have about the same power at the start of a flight but the
15C's start dropping sooner. Probably not a problem in FAI but it was a
problem for me in Masters. As for longevity, it's too soon for me to say. I
have about 45 cycles on the 15C's and 60 cycles on the 20C's. They have all
swelled slightly with no effect on performance. I suspect it's mostly
because of the deep discharges that happen in the Masters schedule. Hope
this helps. BTW, I also have some TP 20C's and those are slightly swelled as
well. Power is similar but the TP's have the most power left for the last
few maneuvers in Masters. My TP's weigh about 600g with the connector and
Velcro. Hope this helps.

I noticed that most are running the 15C 5000 packs but these seem to be in
stock infrequently. Can anyone comment on the performace of the 20C 5000s
from Flightmax. 

 

What's the weight, performance and longevity compared to the 15Cs.

 

I know there must be reasons that the 15Cs are more popular....just not sure
what they are. I would have though the 20Cs would be better as someone
reported that they are only 10gms more than the 15Cs and would provide a bit
more power. Additionally I noticed the TPs are 20C...not 15C.

 

I'm new to the e-scene...so please ignore the ignorance.
