I use .020" diameter SS U-control cable from SIG. Comes two on a roll about
60 feet each.

I have been using Berkely Steelon fishing leader for ever and never had a
failure. 30 pound test or so works fine. It is a plastic coated steel wire
available at sporting goods stores or on line. They also sell the right
size crimps.
