I'd like to thank the NEVRC club as well for a great contest. Mark and the members really work hard at putting on a first rate contest. Let's do it again next year. JEZ

Thanks to Mark and the NEVRC crew for another great pattern event! 6 rounds and awards completed for 25 contestants by 2 PM Sunday. The NEVRC field is very nicely maintained, and breakfast, lunch, and dinner were available from Friday afternoon through Sunday, and the whole contest ran very smoothly. Very impressive for a small club of about 15 members.

Weather was a bit windy at times, but no rain, and plenty of sun. Competition was very strong in most classes, and Intermediate looks to be an extremely competitive class for 2009, with the average age of the top 3 being somewhere around 15.

In FAI, we opted for one of the various “F09 on Sunday” options recently discussed on the list. FAI pilots had the option of flying F09 instead of PO9 for rounds 5 and 6, and 2 elected to do so. Dana Coe earned the title of “the perfect FO9 judges caller”, and all scores were recorded and processed on P09 scoresheets (so no extra work for the scorekeepers). It went fairly smoothly, and will likely be done at future D1 contests.

Regards,

Dave Lockhart

Just a reminder that the field will be open for practice all day tomorrow. We will also have food available tomorrow afternoon as well.

The weather Saturday and Sunday looks to be just about PERFECT (see below). Not a drop of rain in the forecast for the contest. (Could be tad warmer Sunday but we'll take mid 60's over rain any day! :-) )

Please drive safe and let's have a great contest. If there's anything we at NEVRC can do to make your contest experience more enjoyable, please don't be afraid to ask. Feel free to call if you get lost (570-650-6995). We'll have signs up on RT93, the turn onto Red Rock Road and also the entrance to the driveway. For those of you coming for the first time, you have to follow the driveway for quite a while once off Red Rock Road. Just follow the driveway, turn left to go through the large gate, past the red cabin and all the way down to the field. Just look for the cars in the middle of the huge field!

Thanks.........Mark
