My 6 sets of 1P's of another brand lasted less than 50 cycles each.

In my experience the multi P packs have always tolerated more abuse and ran longer than the 1 P. Personally if I have a choice I will run 2P over 1P any day.
You should have zero concerns about running a 2P pack.
