Amazing.  Simply amazing.  Think about it guys... That’s the D4 D5 guys that is...  When we found out he was sick, we weren’t sure he’d be around for the July 4th contest at his home field.  He came to Muncie in June...and flew.  He flew (and flew well) at Hoffman in July.  We all got to party with him at the Nats...some of us thinking we were saying goodbye when we parted.

Hello?? This was Jimmy!  He showed up in Toledo in August to fly at a new contest there...and then...just to teach us what matters...he came to Cincy in September WITH A NEW PLANE he’d finished!!

Never a complaint. Never a whimper.  The man was proud and I’m proud of him.  Proud to have known him.  Bob...you said it well, we lost a brother.

I’m sad.  I’ll be going to Chicago to say goodbye.   But I hope those of you that are there will also join me in a drink to our friend and a drink to our hobby.  It brought us together, it brought Jimmy joy, and it will help us remember him.

One last thing.  I can’t say I knew Jimmy outside of modeling.  But I can say I know that he knew what was important.  I’ll always remember that his focus was people.  Family, friends...that was his focus.

Thanks for a life lesson Jim and thanks for letting me share part of yours.

Hey Mike,
Thanks for letting us all know. Jimmy was a great guy and the timing of your note is really something.  Today, when I was walking Rufus during my lunch hour, I was thinking of Jimmy wondering how he was getting along.  He will be missed by all of us.

Todd

We regret to announce that Jimmy has succumb to the cancer  that he's been fighting for the last year. He will be missed. I will get  the details of his funeral as soon as they are available. He was the  heart of the Chicago group and a true friend to all of us.
