[NSRCA-discussion] Fires and floods

Hi again guys,

Yes-I am actually well away from it this time (unlike in 2003) however
many of my Pattern friends are in the state of Victoria and may well be
affected.

The death toll keeps rising, it is up to 185 when I last heard early
this morning. They are expecting well into the 200's-this is just
terrible!! Entire families and towns have been incinerated-it is truly
apocalyptic.

Everyone is just at a loss at this tragedy. The weather conditions
during and leading up to the fires have never been experienced
before-its really crazy. We here are enduring a nine year drought, up
North are cyclones causing massive flooding, and down South the country
is being incinerated! Everyone has had record heatwave temperatures
(115+) and we actually had claim to being the hottest place on the
planet last week.

Anyway-I know its not pattern related, but I wanted to share with you
the tragedy unfolding down here. I have no word yet of how many pattern
guys are in the areas affected.

Thank you for the well wishes-I'm sure those that need them will
appreciate them.

Tom

Tom,

For certain our thoughts and prayers go out to those affected by the
floods and fires. I'm so sorry for so many who must go through these
tragedies.

How about you, are you in a safe place?

Bill Harden

Hi Guys-

Not sure if you guys have seen the news about what's happening down
here. Its a real tragedy. One end of the country is drowning in
Floods-the other is burning to the ground. Entire towns and communities
have been lost due to the fires. Over 107 fatalities and over 700 houses
are burnt to the ground. Back in 2003, my own city lost 500 houses, but
whilst still a tragedy, only 2 deaths-unlike the 107 sofar.

Spare a thought for these people and communities who now have nothing.

Tom Koenig
