Mike

For airplane use the 1KW is good, lighter and costs less. Mine is a 2KW (Honda) which easily handles 4 chargers or most of the critical home power during outages. I'll defer to others on the brand issue.

You can stand next to it and have a conversation without a problem. I got my 2KW in a Home Depot screw up sale. I paid $299.95 for mine!! I am very happy with it. I have had it about 7 months now and have not had any issues.

For the life of me I can not remember which model that was, can someone please refresh my memory. I thought it was the [Model HW1000i] but I am not sure. How does that one compare as far as sound, fuel efficiency, and reliability compared to the Hondas and such? I know the price is nice at less than $400 bucks brand new.
