[NSRCA-discussion] Futaba Servos

I use 9411SA's on ailerons, with my YS powered 2m planes. I have to
change out the pots fairly frequently, because of the shaking, and the
fact that the pots in these servos are direct drive. You shouldn't
have an issue with an electric plane. I wish JR would update these
servos and go to an indirect pot drive arrangement, as this is the only
issue I have with these servos. My 9411s know Horizon service pretty
well.

I actually used DS 3421's on ailerons with a Panacea I had with an OS
1.60. They are plenty strong, but I stripped a set of metal gears
after a half season, because the shaking wore out the tiny, fine teeth
on the gears. I changed to plastic gears, and didn't have another
problem. They would probably work great on an electric.

Dave,

Quite a few guys are running the JR 9411 on ailerons on 2M stuff.
You'll
save about 1.5 oz for the pair.

Dave Lockhart, Team JR

I have a question about Futaba servos (I'm a JR user) from some Futaba
flyers.
Are the Futaba 9650 digital servos suitable for ailerons on an electric
2
meter plane (Intrgral)? I'm looking to save a couple ounces over the
full
size JR 8411SA I'm using now.
Thanks,
Dave Burton
