I like the 9C OK but wasn't very interested in the conversion besides it's
been my primary transmitter since 2002. In five years I wore out the ratchet
so I expect the gimbels may not be up to the job any more.

If you really like your 9C then buy the 2.4 module for it. It will work with
a number of Futaba FAST receivers and you can still support your 72 MHz
equipment. Personally, after losing several planes to interference I
couldn't get away from 72 MHz FAST (pun intended) enough!
