  I would not doubt that much or all of that info is recorded.  It's a simple matter to scan these cards and get whatever data is there.  A lot of people have been ripped off at gas stations and stores when an employee takes your card out of view and does a 2nd swipe on an illegal reader that gives them your CC info.  

  Anyway, I never return those plastic keys at a hotel.  They're great for spreading epoxy on balsa sheet!

    I'm forwarding this because we stay in motels/hotels so often at contests.  Has anybody heard of this, or is it another one of these "The sky is falling" things so prevalent on the internet?
