Go back a couple more years to the days of 1 MB Winchester hard drives which were HUGE and expensive. Now I have users filling 120 GB drives.

If you wanted to home brew a machine or something there was the Heathkit stuff.

  Had one of those. Only problem was that a hard drive was only 5 MB and cost a fortune.

  Also had a home built Radio Shack Color Computer - wire wrapped board. The complete schematic was in the Motorola manual for the 6809 CPU. Stole the prom code from another machine.
