[NSRCA-discussion] Lithium ion 2 cell packs

That is a good point. My experience is that they degrade with time
just sitting on the bench or in the store. This thing says the cells
were made in Japan and the pack was assembled in China. It is
intended for a Sony Camcorder. It does have an "A08" stenciled on the
case but I don't know if that means anything. I believe I could tell
if it was old by testing. I will probably buy another charger for it,
if I can get it cheap enough, that I can take apart just to have a
mechanical interface for it. Right now I have no way of connecting to
it in order to test it.

If folks are looking for cells to make an airborne pack I'd consider
the A123 cells. The only thing is they are on the heavy side.
