Speaking of 2.4ghz video downlinks, a friend of mine is into shooting airborne videos with such a system. One day we were trying to shoot but were having signal problems with the camera. It ended up being the Futaba TM-7 module I had just started using. I was flying without any apparent problems, but the video downlink was unusable. I ended up switching back to a 72mhz module/rx so we could shoot video, but the fact my system worked without a glitch gave me confidence in the Futaba channel-hopping system.
Just M2CW.

I have been using it for approximately 7 months and have yet to detect any problems.
I have experimented with location of receiver to proximity of servos and wires. XPS requires a distance of 2 from any one of these devices. I have now th receiver about ¾ away from wires and 1-1/2 away from pushrods and servos, not a glitch yet. I am very satisfied with the system.
It does not hop frequencies as futaba does, it merely seeks one, locks on aand then scans the spectrum, it will only hop if it detects a problem; and the problem must be severe before it will let go. However, I understand interruptions in power can be a problem as well as 2.4 Ghz video systems. But I think that applies to all 2.4 systems.
My $.02 worth.
Im not an expert pattern pilot but have more than sufficient experience to judge when something works well.
