[NSRCA-discussion] battery question

A related question: Is it true that the cells are "matched" in a pack? If
so, what advantage would that have?

Thanks, Michael Ramsey

Yes :)

If a cell puffs it is easier to replace in a 5 cell pack. Also cheaper to
replace a 5 cell pack if a cell goes pre-maturely and you do not like to
replace cells. You might find use for a 5 cell pack by itself. Smaller
plane, Heli etc. The downside is that you have to add a little weight for a
Y connector to connect both packs.
A 10S pack is a "little" easier to secure in the plane. I will probably
only buy 5 cell packs from now on. Currently trying out the True-RC packs.

Other than cooling is there any down side to a 10s brick as apposed to two
5s packs?
