The points (whether rounded or not) better be further apart than the flats. Otherwise, a lug wrench would never work. :-)

Note that there is a similar effect of radii on six side loops.  The bigger the radius, the narrower the maneuver becomes relative to the overall height due to the width being measured from tangent to tangent on the radii and the height being measured flat to flat.  A properly flown six sided loop with any radii will always appear slightly egg shaped...
