Hi Ihncheol,
Yes, it is very possible that I will use these new batteries in my gasser. They don't require regulator. For now, I am planing to keep using the TP 910 mah with Ed's regulators in the pattern planes. The 1000 mah solution offered by one of the guys sounds interesting since will eliminate the regulator in the pattern plane. I will check those also.
For now, I need to make my mind. Looks like I will get the AR9100 RX for sure for the gasser. However, I really like the idea to use in the pattern planes replacing the pig tails. I also like the idea of the soft switch already integrated in the RX. I still have time so I will let you know. I assume that you could get also the R921 receiver. I just prefer that rectangular shape.
For now, I need to finish my taxes to see how the bottom line $ is going to be after uncle Sam decide how much he needs. We will see,
Just to remind you. This year I am the CD at the KC pattern contest. I am looking for some sponsors. I know that it could be very difficult for you to do it, but I wonder if you could use some of your big contacts in the RC industry. Also I will be co-CD an IMAC contest in KC in August.
Thanks,

Vince,
a few of local guys fly with A123 as RX pack. They are a little high on the initial voltage, but most of Spektrum receivers handles fine.
However, each cell of original size 2300mAh weighs a little more than 70 grams each. Unless you are using them on IMAC planes, not a good choice.
I know A123 cells are now available at a smaller capacity around 1200mAh, but they aren't cheap.
On the AR9100, I may be cheaper to run lipo and lighter.
Ihncheol

Another interesting option below. Who is flying the A123 batteries? Any feedback is welcome

Yes I have used it, if only for one flight. It works as advertised, a
very nice product for current hungry planes. It's also easier to install
since it does not require as much wiring. If you use A123 or Nimh packs
they can be wired directly into the receiver, no switch and no
regulators in line.
As a footnote, when I used it I had two A123 lithium packs, one powered
only the receiver as "Batt 1" and the other powered the reciver as
"Batt-2" and also powered the ignition. I have done this mow several
times with Spektrum receivers with no problem whatsoever. The A123 packs
have so much capacity it seemed a shame to carry even more for ! the ign ition.
