Yeah, I thought so too. Might there be some literary escapades in your future Bob?

Pattern Pilot's Lament

The first contest of the season
is but a month away
I have not flown yet this year
and won't fly again today

The yard needs cleaning
the deck needs staining
I did get it power stripped
but now it's raining

The new plane still waits in the box
I gaze in the workshop and feel a tear
it looks like old faithful will be my mount
yet another year

But new thoughts sustain me
I have hope a new day will dawn
and I will be flying once more
instead of mowing the lawn

I look forward to great times with great friends
discussing the the finer points of a roll
a steak at the Roadhouse, a beer and a laugh
these things elevate the soul

To all my friends in D4 and D5
I hope to see you soon on the trail
but I ask you to be kind when I push the wrong stick
and reveal it with my tail

Bob Kane
