Hey Steve!
I was there and attended the Saturday night finals.
Yes, congrats to Andrew!
There were two other guys that really brought the house down too though.
Ryan Archer. Only 14 years old but man could he fly! He would literally light the place up with his enthusiasm.
Brandon Chitty. After the loud mouth announcer agitated him about it all night on his last freestyle he threw his neck strap behind
him and made the whole flight with the Tx behind his back! He pulled out all the stops and finished with sliding his transmitter halfway
across the gym floor...after he landed of course! :-)
To say the crowd went nuts would be an understatement!

Nice perspective on the event. I get to do the lazy thing and watch from the stands. Thanks for the write-up.

I put some thoughts comparing and contrasting to full size pattern plane competition, and my usual detailed story book on the event.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_7339821/anchors_7339843/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#7339843And yes Joe and Tom... I've had my fun and now my batteries are charged to get the Brio out tomorrow...
