[NSRCA-discussion] reliable glow fuel pump ??

Jim,

I don't remember exactly because I used/use NiCD and NiMH cells. I keep
Alkaline AA cells in my tool box just in case.
Normal AA alkaline should do at least a case or more. If kept clean.

I like the electric pump from MK (sound of being lazy?) Well, my first fuel
pump was black MK electric pump (uses 4 AA cells).
I
used it for 12 years with original motor (Mabuchi RE280). Then, I replaced
the motor with cheap 280 motor back in 1998 used it until 2004 before
switching to current (white/light blue) MK electric pump.
The original black one leaks a little bit, but still works good.

For Handcrank pump, Pilot (Ok model), Maxx Products are about the same
quality. Pilot pump is tight and will last really long if you can find one.

Hi Guys,

I have the MK hand-crank unit and it has been one of the BEST purchases I've
ever made for this hobby. I bought it in 2002 and have approximately 56
cases of fuel turned through it (this is conservatively estimating 8 cases
per year since 2002). This is $20 bucks that was well spent on every level
in my mind! :) Plus, it cranks out pretty fast too, faster than the
old-6-shooter from memory. Also, previous to this I got tired of putting
batteries in my Slimline electric pump...

I did find it a little slow at first compared to an electric pump that I was
using before it. After it gets broke in it gets faster.
