Precisely the reason Nat mentioned. Since the plane doesn't feel the wind, it becomes part of it and it goes where ever the wind takes it. If the pilot doesn't intervene to correct the wind's...errr.......I mean plane's path, then the plane will crash. The caveat is that the plane crashes with greater efficiency so there is a silver lining in there somewhere. (VBG)
