[NSRCA-discussion] Balsa

Well, there's one in Baton Rouge and one in Memphis that I've eaten at... Cheap knock-offs of Outback... In fact the recipes are pretty much the exact same with only the names changed... And the service is always terrible at Lone Star...

I've never had good service from Lone Star. Eveytime I go there it seems like I always get the "new guy" for a waiter and they always screw up my order. The food is barely passable and it always comes out lukewarm.

Y'know, I always had really great service from Lone Star, but a couple of months ago I called to order stuff and I got a guy that told me they would call me back as the order taker had gone to the Post Office. Well, I never got called back and when I called again I was informed that they had "no 48" or 42" balsa and they would advise me what was available according to what was ordered. Needless to say I backed out and ordered from Balsa USA and was not as thrilled with their stuff.
I can't help but wonder if Riley sold the business as I used to like the oversized stock that I received and they were pretty good on contest grade stuff too. I'll have to try National and see how they stack up.

        Paul:
Lone Star has been fairly good. Good wood fair delivery time, except for my last order from them which has been approximately one month has not arrived yet. They said they would ship tomorrow Thursday 11/15/2007.

          Hi all,

Where is the best place to order balsa? I need balsa to sheet foam wings and build a fuse for a sport plane. Thanks in advance.
