Here's one you could try....   I've used it and it seems to do the job.  Water, a few drops of Simple Green, and some rubbing alcohol...
If you use too much Simple green, it tends to leave a little bit of a film.  If you get it right, it will be easy on the paint...
I'd start with 1/3 alcohol, 2/3 water/Simple Green mixture.  For the mixture, use something like a quart of water, with about a tablespoon of 
Simple Green concentrate...  Adjust from there.

    Nobody has any suggestions for that email I sent out the other day.  For what would be a good cleaner for my pattern plane that doesn't affect its paint job/
