IMHO, moving the CG back will not help the snap. It has been my experience that slightly nose heavy makes for a more predictable snap.
   
  I would try different throws before I resort to moving the CG. Try reduced elevator and rudder throws. If these throws are large, then the model can be in a deep stall (much like a flat spin). Recovery will not be as crisp.
   
  Of course, I have not seen your plane snap so I am just guessing.
