Easier said than done Fred! The plane was basically autonomous for its last 60 seconds.

12Z, G3 with failsafe properly setup. I was kind of surprised at the erratic flight path it took. But it may just have been responding intermittently to my inputs.

Good news is my wife won't question me when my Black Magic VF3 I ordered three months ago shows up next week!

  There's no good answer...

The CD is partly at fault for not ensuring that the other person followed the event's frequency control.

Thee should also have been some method used to mark the normal frequency board as not in use... Again, CD and event staff are at fault for this contributing factor.

The beginner at least attempted to follow the frequency control system he was informed about through the field rules.

As soon as the model started exhibiting interference... it was time to get it on the ground...

Normally I would accept the fact that this hobby has risks and that bad things sometimes happen. However, under the circumstances, I was wondering what you guys think.

I entered an AMA sanctioned electric fun fly today. On my second flight, I took off, turned downwind and realized I was in serious trouble. The plane remained airborne for about a minute before going straight in. The entire time I yelled "SHUT OFF 56!" After the impact, I looked down the field to where two people were trying to get a glow trainer running. I asked 56? And they replied "yes, we have the pin."

Here's the problem.there were two sets of pins. One set for the event, and the club's every-day pins. I had the event pin, he had the other one. Apparently he showed up not knowing an event was in progress. He asked the CD if he could go to the end of the field and run up his engine. As I understand it, the CD allowed this without explaining the frequency control in effect.

What's the club's liability, if any? What's the non-participant's liability, if any? Will either one be covered by AMA's property damage coverage?

Or am I at the mercy of their good moral character?

I should have gone to Muncie.

    Scott
