Thanks to all that replied
The Gmail help seems to be the answer. My posts show up if someone replies
but not till, so I don't know if my email made the trip or not. I switched
from my desktop to my laptop and Gmail about the same time the list was
reworked.

Hi DoWayne,

This is sort of a FAQ (frequently asked question) by folks using
Google's Gmail service.  The short story is Google "helping" you. 
Here's their explanation:

I expected to find a message in my inbox, but it's not there. Is
something wrong?

When you send a message to any mailing list you subscribe to, Gmail
automatically skips your inbox and archives the message to save you time
and prevent clutter. The message will appear in your inbox if someone
responds to it or if there is an error delivering the message. If you'd
like to view your message, you can find it in Sent Mail or All Mail.
