The .40 size Venus with Evolution .46 (probably any decent ball bearing .46, 
since the evolution is on the heavy side) makes a good Sportsman pratice 
plane.  Does the Sportsman sequence as well as a Quest 3D 90 with OS .91 FX 
in mild to calm wind.

Definitely a good low budget choice since you'd probably have an appropriate 
engine already.

Check the lateral ballance... whatever plane you try.  It makes a HUGE 
difference.
