[NSRCA-discussion] OS 1.60 Header Needed

Rick,
Try holding the pipe right at the front with another Dave Brown mount. Make sure the pipe is perfectly in line with the header too - in other words you don't want the mount to put any tension on the header. This is what makes them break. The ES pipe is pretty light but it can still pull on the header if you're only supporting it at one point. I know some guys can hang the pipe on one mount and not have any problems but for some reason I can't. It looks like you're in the same boat as me.

Subject: [NSRCA-discussion] OS 1.60 Header Needed

So I was out practicing for my trip to the nats today and to my dismay my header broke right after the exhaust port. I'm running in my Black Magic an OS 1.60, a Mueller header, and an ES composite pipe.

My question has two parts. First of all is ther anyone going to the nats that has a spare header that will work that they are willing to part with?

And second any ideas to prevent this from happening? I have the 1.60 mounted in a Hyde soft mount with nose ring, there is about a two inch adapter between the header and the pipe. And the pipe is mounted with a single dave brown mount about 2/3 of the way down the pipe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  Rick
