Derek,
This is all great.  It should be a great event.  One request I would have is this.  In the past we have taken 20% plus any fraction of a percentage to the finals.  In this case, that would round up to 9 finalists.  Would Dave consider this?  I just don't think anyone was expecting such a large turnout but it is great that it is.  

I would really encourage Dave to consider this.
It would add 10 minutes per round but be a big boost to the event.
